Sherling Steel - Overview

Sherling Steel is the largest privately owned steel stockholding and services company in Ireland and is well positioned for significant growth in the UK market. Headquartered in Dublin, it consists of ten business units operating from six locations in Ireland, one in England and one in Wales.

In total the group distributes and processes more than 150,000 tonnes of steel per annum and holds stock in excess of 35,000 tonnes. It employs approximately 300 people, 250 in Ireland and 50 in the UK.

Services provided to the construction and engineering markets include:

• Import and distribution of the full range of steel products from large structural sections to light bars from seven national and regional warehouses across the UK and Ireland


• Shotblasting and priming using the most modern automated lines with a range of coating options.


• Profiling and Shear/Punch with the latest technology in high definition Plasma and Oxy profiling equipment along with a fully automated high volume Shear/Punch line.


• Contract Saw/Drill services in both Ireland and England enabling the supply of high precision pre-drilled and cut to length structural steel.


• Automated Beam Welding producing non standard structural sections.


• Cambering and Ring Rolling of structural sections and flat steel.


• Distribution of Carbon Steel Pipe and Fittings, Flanges and Valves along with Special Plate Flange manufacture.
